A² Gnarlwood Climbing Tree
A² Gnarlwood Climbing Tree
Turn an ordinary jumping spider enclosure into a miniature woodland with the A² Gnarlwood Climbing Tree.
Designed with twisting branches, textured bark, natural-looking ledges, and a hollow lower trunk, the Gnarlwood gives your spider more than decoration. Its varied surfaces provide places to climb, perch, explore, and retreat while adding the look of an old, weathered tree to the enclosure.
Each Gnarlwood is 3D printed in SUNLU Oak Wood PLA, chosen for its naturally wood-like appearance and texture. After printing, we hand-finish each tree with a water-based acrylic paint wash to bring out the deep grooves, knots, roots, and bark detail. The acrylic paint used conforms to ASTM D-4236.
The finished piece is then protected with Minwax Polycrylic Crystal Clear Protective Finish in Satin, giving the tree a subtle protective coating without the high-gloss appearance that would detract from the natural wood look.
Because these are hand-finished individually, small variations in shading and finish are expected, making each Gnarlwood slightly different.
Designed for Jumping Spider Enclosures
The Gnarlwood was created primarily as an enclosure feature for jumping spiders. Its irregular branching structure gives your spider multiple climbing routes and elevated areas to explore, while the broad branch platform creates an additional surface for perching. The hollow at the base adds another sheltered area within the design.
Construction & Finish
Approx. 4.55 × 2.91 × 4.77 in overall
3D printed using SUNLU Oak Wood PLA
Reinforced 4-wall construction
10% gyroid internal structure
Hand-finished with water-based acrylic paint conforming to ASTM D-4236
Sealed with Minwax Polycrylic Crystal Clear Satin
Textured bark, exposed-root styling, climbing branches, platform, and hollow trunk
Individually finished by A² Creepy Crawly Co.
Care
For best results, use the Gnarlwood as an enclosure, climbing and décor feature rather than a continuously wet surface. Clean gently as needed and avoid prolonged soaking or harsh cleaning chemicals.
Please note: Because each tree is individually printed and hand-finished, minor variations in coloration, shading, and surface appearance are normal. These variations are part of the finished Gnarlwood look. Substrate and moss not included.
